A swing band with energy and variety, for today’s audiences.

Swing, Jump, Latin, Foxtrot, Waltz, Rock, Pop – really kickin’ arrangements of classic favorites and popular tunes.

Our Performance

We can begin the evening with light background music, or go right into our high energy jump and swing tunes, modern Latin rock, and even a little blues, rock n roll, and funk.  We can do a swing dance mix, or a variety with more recent and novelty tunes.  Our music is lively, but not overpowering, so you can enjoy the event, talk to your friends, and dance!

Our History

The idea for Rocky’s Hot Foxtrot Orchestra began in July of 2000, in the orchestra pit for a charity talent show in Kenner.  We assembled our musicians, including several members from the New Orleans Concert Band, made good use of the extensive music library of Rocky’s father, Cress Troxler, began playing in public, and enjoyed every minute!

Audience and Venues

Our audiences include a wide span of ages.  We attribute this to a resurgence of this genre, and to our selection of an upbeat mix.  We maintain Email contact with a group of friends that enjoy hearing us at public performances.

We have performed at Mid City Lanes Rock N Bowl, the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, Club Silhouette, the Deutsches Haus, hotels, casinos, private parties, weddings, and many other special events.
