The Irish Channel in New Orleans is where my father grew up. This full bodied stout beer has a nice bit of New Orleans kick to it.

This recipie is intended to be used with the Mr. Beer brew keg system. The ingredients listed here can be purchased through the Mr. Beer website.  Here's a link:
Beer Mix     St. Patrick's Irish Stout
Booster  1 pouch
Hops  Northern Brewer (1/4oz)
Other  1 can Golden Wheat unhopped malt extract
Dissolve Booster in water and bring mixture to a boil, then remove from heat.

Add the St. Patrick's Irish Stout, Golden Wheat unhopped malt extract and Northern Brewer hops.

Fill the barrel with 4 quarts of cold tap water.

Add the wort from the saucepan to the microbrewer and top with cold tap water to the 8.5 quart mark.

Sprinkle the yeast from the packet on top of the wort. Allow to sit for 5 minutes, then stir the wort vigorously.

Follow the fermenting and bottling directions.
